The KZNICU operationally is headed by CEO Tracy Elliott and a closely-knit staff comprising Sibonelo Ngcobo (youth cricket), Benn Kempster (playing affairs), Mitesh Maharaj (finances), Mercia Baadjies (mini-cricket), Jannie Vermaak (stadium manager), Ram Maharaj (groundsman), Whitney Ndlovu (reception) and Rebecca Nene (general worker).

Elliott answers to a board that is headed by President Yunus Bhamjee, a well-respected member of Pietermaritzburg legal fraternity. The other executive committee members are vice president Alan Payne, treasurer Neville Barron, Dr Prem Naicker and Ayub Onia.
