Inland back at The Oval

The senior Inland cricket side will be keeping an anxious eye on the heavens as it prepares for the double-header against Easterns this week.
Thursday sees the start of the three-day CSA match, followed by Sunday’s 50-over clash against the visitors from eastern Gauteng.
Inland has much to prove and will be hoping for some consistency on its home ground, according to coach Grant Morgan.
Having returned from a tough assignment against Gauteng in Johannesburg, Morgan pointed out that Inland appears to rise to the occasion against tough opponents .
The foray to the Highveld is a case in point – having crashed by six wickets to Gauteng in the three-day match, Inland bounced back with an emphatic 88-run victory in Sunday’s one-day match.
Morgan will hope the heroes of the one-day win, Kyle Nipper (4/22), SJ Erwee (85 and a 121.00 strike rate), Tyler Lortan (55 and 1/14), and Yusuf Abdullah (3/19) will continue their good form and translate that into the three-day game.
Morgan undoubtedly will also hope that Inland’s talented top order will fire after some rather desultory innings of late.
Entry to The Oval is free on all four days of cricket.
