The Oval is ready for Dolphins against Warriors

If the swashbuckling performances of the Sunfoil Dolphins top order against the bizhub Highveld Lions was a portent of things to come, Sunday’s Momentum Cup one-day match against the Warriors promises to be another humdinger at The Oval on Sunday, November 3.
Sunday’s match against the Lions may have been washed out, but the fearsome batting of Dolphins skipper Morne van Wyk and Cameron Delport had The Oval die-hards in raptures.
Van Wyk plundered 61 runs off only 38 balls that included seven fours and three monster sixes, while Delport smashed 56 in 52 balls (8×4, 1×6) to help the Dolphins post a respectable 227.
But persistent rain brought a halt to what promised to be an exciting run chase by the Lions.
The KZN Inland Cricket Union will be hoping for a reprieve from the rain when the Dolphins take on the Chevrolet Warriors on November 3 at The Oval. The team from the Eastern Cape currently trails the Dolphins by a solitary point and both squads have everything to play for.
But all and sundry would have been buoyed by the wicket that was prepared meticulously, and played like the top class pitch it is.
Before making the trek to Pietermaritzburg, the Dolphins have another assignment on Wednesday (October30) when they host the Chevrolet Knights from the Free State in Durban.
Tickets to Sunday’s match at The Oval are available on line through http://www.ticketpros at R15 for scholars and R30 for adults.
