Inland Cricket brings Christmas cheer
Members of the Inland cricket team brought some festive season cheer to disadvantaged children in Eastwood last week. While the children are fed on a daily basis by the Imfundumalo Nentokomalo Feeding Scheme, the visit by the Inland cricket team brought a big smile to the children.
The Imfundumalo Nentokomalo Feeding Scheme has been operated by the Hossen family in Cinderella Park for the past four years and funnels donations to about 250 needy people, adults and children, twice a week.
Co-ordinator Odette Hossen thanked the KwaZulu-Natal Inland Cricket Union for its support, saying that without the generosity of sponsors, the feeding scheme would not be able to reach the poorest of the poor.
“I’d also like to thank Kaneez Catering, Honeydew Diaries, Gift of the Givers, Save Hyper, Ramsay Engineering, and the many other sponsors who have opened their hearts to the plight of the poor,” she said.
